New York to Montreal - any suggestions?
I'm planning a trip to Montreal in June (I'll be there for about a week.)
I've been amazed at how expensive the post 9/11 security fees and taxes are. Because one gets charged on both ends, the U.S. and Canada, it adds about $100 to the airline ticket prices. Right now I'm considering Amtrak, which has a $145 round trip fare, although the trip takes all day. It's supposed to be quite beautiful, up the Hudson and through the Adirondacks. But I'd still prefer to fly. Any suggestions? (And, yes, I've tried all the usual places, Expedia, Travelocity, and the major airline sites.)

05/17/2004 Hi, I leave in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil but now and then I travel to and from Montreal by train to New York. The train leaves Penn Station(Manhattan) at 08:00 AM and arrives in Montreal at 6:00PM (Rue de La Gauchetière) While in Montreal u can by a metró pass for 3 or 5 days.
Have a nice trip and don't miss Québec, mainly Vieux Québec.

I started to look into flying into Burlington. How long is the drive? JetBlue has a really cheap fare. My only issue would be the car, as I won't need it most of the time I'm there and a week's car rental adds up.
