Montreal to Quebec

My wife and I are travelling from Australia to New York in September to visit our son and his family. We are heading up to Montreal for a few days then across to Quebec for a further few days before heading back to New York, then home.
Have read about the possibility of travelling from Montreal to Quebec by Hydrofoil. Any advice on this would be appreciated - travel time, cost, and carrying a sensible amount ( still being negotiated with my wife )of luggage

Wow, we live in the Toronto area, and I've never heard of this. Now I want to find out too, since we're planning a trip soon.

I live in Montreal and haven't heard this. There are cruises from Montreal to Quebec City. See here:

The book I have says the hydrofoil is called the "Les Dauphins du St-Laurent".
The web address given is www.dauphins.ca but logging on says it is a site "under construction".
Hope this helps. Keira

I think they're no longer running. Or if they are, it's only very ocassionally - and haven't seen their boats at the port.

If you do take it, one way is plenty - quite bumpy but unique way to see the area Get their early for seat close to the front as poss. Unfortunately, English commentary tends to be after you've passed what they're talking about.

Don't think there's much room for luggage - you're better off storing stuff in Montreal, as it's easier to get to NYC from there anyway.
