The Montreal Crowne Plaza is a fine location, and a fine hotel. Can't comment on the Hilton in Quebec City.
There are more expensive hotels in Montreal, but unless you love excess luxury, there's no real benefit to spending more.
BAK

I think the best thing about the Quebec Hilton is the view and the valet parking- so save your money and stay at a cute place on the Grand Allee or try the Concorde Astral. The location of the HIlton is great, but all of old Quebec is so small everything is pretty close and there are many great views.. If you are willing to spend beaucoup bucks, take the Chateau Frontenac, otherwise take small hotel charm.

We are planning a trip to Montreal in
the end of summer. I looked at the
recommendations on this site and some
people have very high opinion about Montreal Crowne Plaza. Is this hotel
very close to all the nightclubs? I was
worried that it will be too business-like judging from their web site.
Thanks

We go to Montreal several times a year. Are you talking about the Crowne Plaza on Sherbrooke East? This is possibly the best loction in all of Montreal for a large hotel. Very close to St. Dennis, Prince Arthur, Ste. Laurent, and Duluth, which are the most interesting streets in Montreal.

Well, we did not exactly want the large
hotel. Are there small boutique hotels
in the same area?
