Any recomemndations for a old time lodge in Canada? I am looking for a winter wonderland escape.

Dave, Google on Prince of Wales Lodge in Waterton, Alberta. I haven't been there myself, but a friend of mine was there just a few weeks ago and LOVED it. Romantic, historical... all that good stuff! There are several photos on their website. Hope this helps!<BR><BR>Lynette<BR>

I would visit the Prince of Wales for lunch or dinner but I don't think I would stay there. Many of these old type lodges are very expensive but the rooms are from the 50's or so.<BR><BR>Waterton is a lovely place when the wind isn't blowing. Waterton Glacier Suites is a new lodge there that has very nice rooms, although not inexpensive. I suppose it depends on your budget.

In Waterton I would suggest the Kilmorey Lodge - located in town and very romantic. Otherwise I would suggest the Jasper Park Lodge in where else - Jasper. Tres beautiful!

My pick for a winter wonderland escape would be "Emerald Lake Lodge" in Yoho National Park. Search the posts, you will find lots of comments (inncluding mine) about the lodge and the environs.

We stayed in Revelstoke, BC two years ago, and this town is gorgeous! There is a large lodge on the outskirts of this small town with more "modern" facilities, etc. - http://www.hillcresthotel.com/, and it is excellent, but if you are looking for a "classic" lodge with old pine and stuffed bears and fish on the walls, can't help you. Where do you plan on going?
