Hotels in Golden

I am looking for suggestions of where to stay in Golden. I like to stay around town so I can walk to restaurants and shopping. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate.

Thanks

I don't know about hotles that are actually IN the town of Golden (both Ramada and Best Western are outside) but you might try this website and contact individual B&B's http://www.bbcanada.com/british_colu...rockies/golden

Golden is a small place. The best places to stay are on the highway: Best Western Mountain View Inn, Hillside Lodge and Chalets, the Kapristo Lodge, and the Ramada Limited.

The old Rondo is downtown, but it shows its age. Unless it has been renovated in the last 2 years, it would not be my first choice.

One of th Golden hotels has a nice water slide if you are travelling with kids and they need a break, I forget the name but it is on the ridge and will be advertised with the pool and slide.

That motel with the water slide might be the Golden Rim. It claims it has a water slide. The virtual tour of the motel shows a water slide. It is not much, but it at least gives an opportunity to slide down and splash in the pool.

The pool is covered. Otherwise, it would not get much use!!
