Lodging in UP of Michigan-September

Hi there...I do know that there have been several posts on Northern MI lodging on here and there was also a wonderful trip report that I cannot seem to locate about where to stay in the UP of MI. Anyone have any good ideas about good lodging choices for our Sept trip to the UP?? We have three kids, 6, 3, and two months and want to be close to the water, maybe a pool at the resort or hotel...maybe on Lk. Superior shoreline but not the western UP because we only have three days traveling from lower MI. Also any good dining choices. If someone could guide me about how to find the good trip reports of late on here about the UP that would be great. We will be going mid September form mid MI.

DH and I just stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Munising earlier this month. It would be great with kids. You have a great view of the Pictured Rocks NL from the breakfast room and the pool area. In addition to the usual hot tub, the pool has a very shallow end with a water mushroom that would be great for the little ones.

Thanks a lot SuzieTrue for the suggestion, I will check it out now, it sounds like what we are looking for as long as Munising isn't too far for a 3 day trip.

From the Bridge to Munising is about 2 hours.

Another idea is to head north on I-75 to the Soo.[About 1 hour from the bridge] The locks run through town. I've never stayed lock-side but know there are some motels there. From the Soo you could day-trip to Tahquemenon Falls and White Fish Point.
