Hotel Inter-Continental in Montreal
My wife and I are planning a long 30th anniversary weekend at the Inter-Continental in July. All the reviews I've read say it's great, but a couple of people on a recent thread posted some negative comments. How good or bad were your experiences? What were the problems? Should we stay there or consider someplace else?

Many thanks for your advice.

Intercontinental run good hotels, but with any service business, people can have a bad day.

the location is, I believe, not really anywhere, but on the way to lots of places. Sort of at the empty hub of a wheel with lots of interesting places within ten minutes walk.

There used to be a genuine piece of the Berlin Wall in an enclosed laneway immediately behind the hotel, and this is worth visiting, and contemplating, for a while.

Then walk down the laneway to a really good casual cafeteria.

BAK

I've stayed there a few times and think it's a great hotel. The construction was a problem, but if that's completed you should have a great time. The location is near Old Montreal. My only gripes are the exercise area could be bigger and the bistro (can't remember the name) isn't open on the weekends. But it's still a great place.
