Horseshoe Bay Motel
6588 Royal,
West Vancouver
Phone: (604)921-7454
Right in the heart of the action-Downtown Horseshoe Bay-not quiet because of the Ferries clanking and groaning as well as vehicular traffic but probably OK for 6 hours or so of rest.
For that time of year book in advance as holiday traffic on the Ferries is heavy.

It's within sight/sound of the Ferries which dominate the village of Horseshoe Bay.
The only problem you'll have catching a Ferry from 'downtown' HB is figuring out how to access the lineup.
It means leaving the village of HB and travelling Eastward on the highway until a certain exit-the number of which I forget-and then turning around/heading West until the lineup begins.
http://www.bcferries.com might be of help and the Motel management will know for sure.

It probably would take you an hour to drive from the airport to Horseshoe Bay because you would be driving through the city of Vancouver... literally, crossing it from south-north, through downtown, then over the Lions Gate bridge to North Vancouver to where you'd connect onto the highway that brings you to Horseshoe Bay. The city of Vancouver has no highway system... so you'd be driving 50-60 km/h for the most part of this drive.
The drive from the airport to Tsawwasssen would take about 30 minutes because it's done by highway. Nevertheless, if it's rush hour (which at 7:30, it's not), it might take longer.
The drive from downtown Vancouver to Horseshoe Bay takes under half an hour. If you have a car and you don't have to be directly next door to the ferry terminal, staying downtown, or even in North Vancouver, would give you many more options that are only a short highway drive away.

Carmanah, TKS! Our tentative flight gets into YVR @ 7:07PM on 12/31, and we were trying to ensure catching the Ferry from HShoe to Nanaimo that departs from HShoe @ 9PM. Most probabbly will opt for the following morning sailing at 6:30AM. Gracias.
