Gare Centrale Montreal

Is there a facility at the Gare Centrale in Montreal, to leave you luggage for a few hours? If not is there is at a nearby private facility?

Yes. There are no longer any lockers, but there is a baggage check room.

There's also very good takeout food at the station, if you want to buy snacks to take onto the train.

It's actually a very good food court. I would try Boulangerie Première Moisson, a branch of the excellent Montreal bakery chain.
