frozen waterfalls

In and around Vancouver, even on the local mountains, it would be very unusual for it to get cold enough to freeze a waterfall. In very cold snaps small waterfalls along the Sea to Sky Highway will become partially or wholly frozen and they can be beautiful that way. But big ones like Shannon Falls might freeze over once every ten years or so but with global warming even that may not happen anymore.

I agree with the answers above. Vancouver is located in a temperate rainforest area so frozen waterfalls are extremely rare. Farther east to Banff/Lake Louise (Alberta) in the middle of December would be more like it. Hard core golf addicts can book tee-off times in Vancouver during the winter.
