FIRST TRIP TO TORONTO

This is the first trip to Toronto (we also plan to go to Niagara Falls) for my husband and me. We are planning a romantic getaway. We will be staying two nights at Niagara Falls and then three nights in Toronto. Any suggestions of sights to see and romantic dining or theaters would be greatly appreciated.
You may get more responses if you posted in the Ontario forum! While you're in Niagara Falls, take a drive to Niagara-on-the-Lake, about 20 min. away towards Toronto. It is a very romantic town - totally opposite from the wax museums & Casino of Niagara Falls.
As for Toronto, try dinner at Canoe (top of the TD Centre).
I found your message just fine. You may want to spend two nights in Toronto and three at The Falls. Toronto is wonderful, but there was much more to see and do in the falls area than I expected. Niagara-on-the-Lake is not to be missed for a romantic experience. You may want to stay in Queenston (midway between The Falls and NOTL). We stayed at the South Landing Inn last year and loved it there. The rooms are "country inn" and the rates are ridiculously low (especially with the favorable exchange rates) for the value. If you are interested in theatre, try www.starcitysearch.com for what's going on in Toronto, then www.shawfest.com for NOTL. The line-up is so spectacular this year that we are going back (to NOTL) for an entire week (already have tickets to four shows) rather than Ireland or Paris! Feel free to e-mail for more info.

Karen:

My fiancee and I stayed at a great B&B in New York not too far from Niagara. It was in Lewiston and if you want I can give you the info for it. It's owned by a very nice couple who talk to you about anything! Stay away from the falls itself unless you want a frustrating tourist trap. Niagara-on-the-Lake is a very nice little town and there you will feel romantic. Also, Toronto is not far away at all and there you will get a lot of neat cultural things (do not miss the Royal Ontario Museum or the many ethnic neighborhoods like Portuguese and Chinese!) Just walking around in this town is great!
Actually, now that I think about it, if you don't actually go down and hang out around the falls view, there are great walking paths around the top with lots of trees and cool statues and things like that. That would be very romantic. Just be warned that the Falls are anti-climactic!

Daniel Lee
