How long does it take on the ferry from Seattle to Victoria? Are there any other ways of getting to their from Seattle and how much extra do they cost?

I'm not sure how long it takes because I've never taken that ferry. But another route is to drive from Seattle north into British Columbia. This drive takes 2 hours. As soon as you cross the border, it's another 30 minute drive until you get to the main Tsawwassen (Vancouver) ferry terminal. The ferry from Tsawwassen to Victoria is only an hour and a half, and you can bring your car. (I don't think the ferry from Seattle to Victoria allows cars.) Or you can fly regular plane to the airport which is a half hour drive out of Victoria.<BR><BR>Otherwise you need an automobile to get to ferry terminals at Tsawwassen or Port Angeles or Anacortes. If you don't want to fly, I would be inclined to follow Robyn's advice. <BR><BR>

Just rode the Victoria Clipper ferry last week, it was 2.5 hours from Victoria to Seattle, with the extra bonus of seeing Orcas along the way! The boat captain stopped for about ten minutes and let everyone "ooh" and "aah" while he gave us some information about the resident pods of Orcas. Thrilling sight!<BR><BR>IMO, there were two small drawbacks to the Victoria Clipper -- the waiting area in Victoria was small, cramped, and had very few seats, and the second was customs. You go through a U.S. Customs checkpoint in Victoria, then upon arrival in Seattle, you must wait until ALL lugagge is emptied from the boat. From that point you line up, claim you luggage, and go through U.S. Customs AGAIN. We landed at 7:30 pm but did not exit the dock until almost 8:30 pm, thanks to customs. Not a big deal unless you're pressed for time.<BR><BR>Hope this helps.
