Do you really want to drive? Taxi to Blue Horizon would probably cost 25-30 cdn dollars. Its easy to take a bus to the ferry terminal, and on to Victoria if thats where you're going.

Where to start, where to start.

Are you renting a car @ the airport?

Are you aware of the 17.5% tax on car rentals if you've arrived by air in the past 24 hrs?

Do you have reservations for the Ferry?

Do you really need a car on Vancouver Island or will a bus as mentioned work for you/renting on the other side if necessary?

Both Mapquest and Google maps can show the the road into town-and also the road out of town to Tsawwassen, in addition the hotel should have info for you on their website.

Ya thanks...i know about the taxes..my car rental is free, i just pay the taxes...I have reservations for the ferry, i have been planning this trip for the last several months..from Vancouver to Salt Spring Island then to Pender Island and back to Vancouver.

I felt it essential to have a car on these Islands..

Why should i not have a car for overnight in Vanvouver, i will just leave it at the hotel parking lot til the following morning when we leave..is it that bad to drive in Vancouver??

I only posted this questions as i thought perhaps somebody had some recco's on the best way from the airport, maybe there was a short cut??

Thanks. I will try mapquest..

You'll pay upward of $20/night to park the car and $30 isn't unheard of.

You should be fine going straight into town on Granville, then turn left at some point (16th Ave, 12th Ave, Broadway) to get to Burrard and take the Burrard St. bridge right into town. No quick route. I don't know when you are coming in, so I can't tell if construction is going to be a problem. Right now, the construction delays are mostly on Cambie (at 12th, 2nd, etc)
