Downtown Toronto Hotel in May

Plan on traveling from Ohio to Toronto in May for 4 days with another couple. We will be going to several Bluejay games. Any hotel suggestions? No budget, really. Park Hyatt's rates are $319CA. Would love to find a better deal, but willing to pay for good location near stadium, fun bars and restaurants. Most likely won't be in the room much. Looked at the Renaissance at the SkyDome, too, but don't know much about it or others. Thanks for any help!

The Westin Harbour Castle is a very nice 4 or 5 star hotel within a leisurly 10 minute walk of the Skydome. It's also well located for the Queens Quay area and about a ten minute walk from the heart of the downtown theatre, restaurant and shopping district. I don't think you can do better frankly.

Hello JoAnne. Just a few days ago I booked 2 rooms in Toronto for May 25-28, 2002, using priceline.com. I bid $50 US for a downtown 3 star hotel and got the Renaissance Skydome. Obviously this beats anything I found on the internet or by calling the hotels directly. I have personaly used priceline to book several different airline tickets but have never done it for hotel stays. For the airline tickets we have never had any problems so we decided to take the plunge with hotels. There is also a site called biddingfortravel.com that gives tips on priceline. Just remember that with priceline there are no changes or refunds allowed so you must pay once you hit that final button. If you are looking to save a lot of money I know of no other way. Sonya

JoAnne - The Crowne Plaza Hotel is right next to the Stadium and fits your request perfectly...If you join their Priority Club they offer several room specials... my favorite over the last 4 summers has been "Summer Options" which has allowed us to get One room at full price $229 CDN and the second room at $99 CDN. That will also put you on Front Street with the Entertainment District at your doorstep.

You can get to the website and check availability at www.crowneplaza.com but I guarantee you there is no better choice for your trip!

Sorry for the duplicate post! Thanks for your responses. Crowne Plaza sounds great. I'll check it out. The special would help w/ the second room cost.
