Dancing in Montreal

I'm going to Montreal with my wife in August for her 30th bday. I want to take her dancing at a great club. Looking for something with a fun crowd and a good scene. I would prefer it not be wall to wall people, but do want it to feel alive. Also, if possible, I'm not a fan of waiting in line, especially on my wife's big birthday. Is this too much to ask or can someone suggest something fun. By the way, it will be a Thursday night.

Am planning to stay in Vieux-Montreal, but am happy to take a taxi around town to get there. Am looking for two types of clubs:
1) Normal club/dance/electronic music
2) Latin club (preferably with live band)

Thanks in advance

I don't go out dancing, but thursday night is the most popular "going out" night; so be prepared for crowds if you get directed to a hot spot in town.

August in mtl is fabulous, everyone is out on a nice night.
Just make sure you don't get directed to a too youngish club, drinking age in mtl is 18, they get fake id's at 16.

Sorry, I'm not a clubber but at least, a Montrealer. For latino clubs, check this link:http://www.tuguialatina.com/comercio...discoteca.html
There's 3 clubs around the Peel area which means they are downtown. As for a club for the birthday, you could try Altitude 737 on the rooftop of Place Ville-Marie. Hard to beat the panoramic views. Line-ups only for the elevator.http://www.worldsbestbars.com/city/m...7-montreal.htm
The hotel concierge should also be able to help you.
