Cape Breton-Cabot Trail
We are making plans to do a road trip of the Cabot Trail and Cape Breton area of Novia Scotia and aren't sure if it will be too cold for activities such as hiking & whale watching. Hope you can give some insight as to the weather in late Sept. or early Oct.
We only have about 10days. If we should have time to see more than the Cabot Trail area, what would you suggest?
What is the best area for Whale viewing that time of year?
Thanks for your replies.

I would say that a visit to the Fortress of Louisburg would be a must. It is a fantastic historical site and will be a highlight.
Hiking will be beautiful with the leaves changing color at that time of year. If you are in to hiking you could probably easily fill your days with different hikes in Cape Breton. A favorite of our family used to be Wishkeben (sp) Falls. Mabou Mountain is also very pretty.

hiking i would suggest the skyline trail located on the cabot trail really is on the top of french mountain and is one hell of view it goes down the spine of french mountain out towards the sea and is one one the most photographed trails around.
