I assume that the Cabot Trail you mean is the one in Nova Scotia, around Cape Berton Island. On that assumption, here is what I can tell you from my experiences.
What information I have currently is in a tourist guide called Nova Scotia - the Doer's and Dreamer's Complete Guide which I received 4 years ago from Tourism Nova Scotia. The toll-free information service can be reached at 1-800-565-0000
Or http://www.tonovascotia.com/enlargem...apebreton.html
We drove most of the route, staying overnight at Cheticamp, L'Auberge Doucet Inn. It was comfortable and quiet for us. I would go back there.
My strongest suggestion is to see the fortress at Louisbourg, and perhaps take a whale watching cruise.
The scenery, while interesting, is a little less spectacular than Lake Louise. But we enjoyed our trip.

What kind of information are you looking for? I was there two weeks ago touring PEI, NS and NB. Two weeks was not enough time.
Check out the NS website at:

Here is a website for the Cabot Trail. I live in Cape Breton so if you have any specific questions, just drop me a line and ask away.
