We are travelling from Sydney and would like to go on the Cabot Trail. Any suggestions where we would like to stay on the way down to pictou?

Confused? Where are you entering the Province. Pictou is halfway between Sydney and Halifax?

Have you looked @ The Doers' & Dreamers' Guide published by NS Tourism. It will give you some good ideas.

Dear Mr. Brown, I would suggest a place in antigonish by the name of the Victoria Inn. After doing the trail from sydney which will take approx 8 hours it will only be another 1hr to 1 & 1/2hrs drive to antigonish. From here its only approx a 45 min drive from here the next morning to pictou. This all counts on you doing the trail in a counterclock wise direction. It really doesn't matter what direction you go the driving times will not vary much. hope this helps.

Dear Mr. Brown, If you didn't want to do all of this driving in one day. I would suggest you stay in baddeck over night at either the telegraph house or The Inverary Inn & its only an 1hour & 1/2 drive from there to pictou.

Just to let you know we have originated our trip starting at Halifax and after staying in Sydney we plan to stay to travel on the cabot trail and stay somewhere on this other side of Nova Scotia. The reason I mentioned Pictou was because we were taking the ferry to PEI
