Sidney: I guess the simple response is, if you enjoy horticulture, you will like Butchart Gardens. Victoria is B.C.'s garden city, and Spring flowers will be in full bloom. The Empress is still Vicotia's Grand Damme of hotels, and you will enjoy its ambience, and ideal Inner Harbour location. A lot of Vicotria's sites are within easy walking distance. Have a nice visit.

Some daffodils are just starting to come up now so I would think tulips should be in full bloom by early April and the gardens should be quite lovely.

the only downside to the empress that i've heard is how busy it is with all the tourists stopping there.
