Do you have children?...if so and they can swim..Basin Head Provincial Park is always a good day out...kids enjoy jumping off the bridge and letting the tide carry them...it also has singing sands(the sand makes noise when you walk on it) ...also a nice beach and a snack bar...it was always a summer must do for my kids.

Hi, maybe not the best beaches if you have kids - they are both outside the National Park on the North Shore and are typical white sand beaches but have no lifeguards, parking lots or snack bars all of which is why I love them.
Kids love Brackley beach which is in the National Park. It has parking, change rooms with bathrooms, lifeguards, snack bar etc. A family tradition was an afternoon at Brackley and an ice cream cone from Richard's at Covehead before heading home.

The best beach I've found there is in eastern PEI, north of Bothwell. It's another that has no lifeguards, no restrooms, and very limited parking. We found it many years ago, but it doesn't have a sign so I don't know it's name.
