Beating the traffic in Toronto

I would like to spend several hours at Canadas Wonderland (on a weekday). However, on that day I need to be in Niagara Falls in the early evening (around 5pm). Any advice on what time I should leave Wonderland to accomplish this?

3:30, because you'll be suffering from the Toronto rush hour.

BAK

Brian, If Ron left Wonderland @ 3:30 in the morning he wouldn't make it to Niagara Falls by 5:00 AM!! What on earth are you thinking? If he leaves Wonderland @ 3:30 he is likely to arrive in NF around 6:00-6:30. To be in NF for 5:00 leave Wonderland around 2:30.

I agree with Susan....better yet, play it safe and leave by 2PM...otherwise, you will be caught in traffic, and rush hour starts anywhere from 3 and continues till 7...better give yourself enough time and leave early!

Well, Ron, maybe the other folks know more than me.

Anyway, remember that it takes a while to get out of the Wonderland parking lot, so my 3:30 is based on leaving the parking lot, not starting the walk to your car.

My route is 400 to 401 west, to 403 south, to Queen Elizabeth Way, to Niagara Falls.

And by "around 5" my timing would get you to the edge of the city, not into the heart of downtown, trying to find parking, getting out of the car, etc.

But, when in doubt, lewaving early is not a bad idea.

BAK

Hi Ron,
I drive for a living....driving all day around the southern Ontario area, and 75% in the Greater Toronto Area, and do agree with Susan and Mel. Do try and leave Wonderland by 2:30 at the latest. And I do mean leaving the parking lot....not walking to the car.
The route Brian has outlined is the way to go.
If you want to give yourself a cushion, then do leave by 2 pm.

Good luck.
