89 Chestnut-UofT student residence
Hi, trying to find a nice, cheap place to stay in Toronto and wondered if anyone could recommend this place? I am not fussy, but do want clean, safe, etc. A/C in July is a must though. Just staying 2 nights so wanted to be central. thanks

89 Chestnut used to be, for years, a Holiday Inn.
Then it became The Colony, and then UofT tok it ov er and turned it into a residence.
Location is good, right across the street from the Metropolitan, right behind City Hall, short walk to Eaton Center, close to subways.
I'd be amazed if it dod not have air conditioning.
For a cheap meal, walk across City Hall square (Nathan Philips Square, named after a mayor) and get a hot dog and fries from one of te trucks. My preference is the easternmost truck.
