7 hour layover in Vancouver-what to do
We have a 7 hour layover in Vancouver in November, enroute to Hong Kong. The bad part is we get in at 7:30pm and leave for HK at 2:00am. I was thinking of leaving the airport and taking a cab to somewhere, maybe a shopping center that has a Japanese restaurant. We like the izakaya style Japanese food. Any suggestions?

Since the airport is technically in Richmond, one idea is to take a cab to Aberdeen Centre - an Asian shopping center nearby in Richmond.

Have a late dinner at Guu. Guu is a famous Vancouver izakaya restaurant. Their Aberdeen location is more sushi-oriented than their other locations (which are located downtown).

A cab from the airport to Aberdeen Centre would take less than 10 minutes.

HI Susiesan
A short taxi ride or check for a hotel shuttle to the River Rock Casino a huge mega Casino in Richmond by the airport 24 hours a day with several eating options, they have chinese but I an not sure about Japanese but you could eat at one prior to going to the Casino, I think that there is one even at the airport itself.
