1000 islands

I shall be the first ten days of December in Brockville and Prescott, in a business trip. During the weekend, when I have free time, I would like to visit the place. Unfortunately, I found in internet that there are boats trips to 1000 island only in the spring - summer. The same about Boldt castle and Skydeck.
What can somebody visit NOW - in december? Does the waterfront of Brockville ofer a nice view of islands?

Please give me some ideas.
Thanks a lot.

The 1000 islands area is nice but you may want to go to Ottawa, which is only about 1hr to 1.5hrs away. It's worth the drive.

Thank you for the answer. I visited Otawa during other trips. I am writing now from Brockville. It is a small town, but very nice building, nice views.
No boats trips in this time.

Have you been to Kingston? It's worth a visit, and easy to get to from Brockville.

I agree, Kingston is worth seeing and there is more to do there than in Brockville.
Also, drive along the Parkway, rather than the 401, and the views of the lake should be pretty.
