Wi-Fi in Oz
We'll be taking a wi-fi enabled laptop on our upcoming travels around Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, some road trips, N. Queensland) and got to wondering how prevalent wireless internet "hot spots" are, who are the main service providers, cost for connections, all that. Can anyone cast some light on this? Many thanks.

Hi Gardyloo,
Macdonalds has a number of wi-fi hotspot enabled restaurants, check their website for locations that have been enabled.
Also there are iBurst providers in some of the capital cities like Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
A good website to ask these kind of questions in Australia is:
www.whirlpool.com.au
You will find a wealth of information on broadband and wi-fi matters.
Cheers
