Not sure what you mean by innerwear???
I live in Perth and I LOVE this time of year...May is beautiful with cool mornings and warm afternoons. I just spent 10 days showing an overseas visitor around the Perth area and we wore shorts every day, save one, when we wore jeans. Unless you run cold, you'll get by fine with shorts, jeans and a light jacket.
Have fun...WA is a great place to visit.

I wear sandals pretty much year round in Perth...I'm a Colorado girl and I'm hot more often than not. As far as I'm concerned WA doesn't have much of a winter, but most Aussies would disagree with me. Seems when I'm the most comfortable, the Aussies are complaining about the cold. It's all about what you're used to, but truly, if you're comfortable in sandals, go for it, May is still sandal weather in my book.
Where are you coming from?
We were tempted to plunge into the Indian ocean a few weeks back, but it was a bit cold even for us, so swimming is another issue altogether. We did see some crazy folks out there in swim gear, although a wetsuit makes more sense this time of year.

Hi Fioon,
Coming from Singapore, I think you'll probably feel the cold a little more than Melnq8, so if you already have light under garments, it might be a good idea to pack a singlet/under shirt. I wouldn't buy them especially for this short trip, though.
You will need a coat/jumper/sweater for night & early mornings.
Enjoy your trip - WA is a beautiful place.

I just spent four days in Singapore and I'm currently sweating my behind off in Langkawi....you'll definitely find Perth a bit cooler than what you're used to Fioon, but IMO, that's a GOOD thing! How Singaporeans survive the weather in Singapore is beyond me...
Enjoy your visit!

Ah Melnq8, I'd have thought all those years in the Middle East would have thinned your Cold Country blood by now
We 'warm bloods' only need the slightest chill to rug up or roll right back into hibernation. Fioon will perish if he gets hit with some of those arctic winds blowing down St.George's Terrace.
You know Melbourne will be just right for you next week don't you? Extra ice blocks in the Yarra & all that. Are you SURE we can't persuade you to come?

I'm afraid not Bokhara...all those years in hot climates just makes me crave the cold that much more. I hibernate in the summer in Perth, and spring back to life in mid April!
Despite all that AC in Singapore I can feel the humidity the minute I get off the plane, Fioon. We had a long layover in Singapore the other day and it was so warm in Terminal 2 that we fled to the cooler climes of Terminal 3 for a few hours.

All the more reason to hie thyself to the chilly, and very cool Melbourne in a week & a bit ! It's not only Australia's Coolest city temperature wise, but also for restaurants, night clubs ....
And this rave from a Sydneyite !

I hear ya, Bokhara...maybe I should move to Melbourne? I've been on the move since early April and the GTG just didn't fit into the plans. Enjoy those ice blocks in the Yarra..I'll be thinking about you lot soaking up all that refreshing cold!
