I can recommend Australian Pacific Tours (APT) - we two tours of Western Australia with them in 2003 - one took in the south west area and the other north up to Monkey Mia. They are a very efficient tour company with excellent, knowledgeable guides, new buses and good accomodation.
You will find that people on this Forum will encourage touring independently, but we certainly prefer using a tour company and have enjoyed every one we have taken.

There are several hop on, hop off buses that provide good tours from Perth to Broome and Darwin during the winter. At night you can stay in a hostel or hotel. If interested, let me know and I will google their names for you.

G'day.
WA is huge! What that means is that you will need time and that weather conditions can be very different from south to nord.
What time of the year are you planning to travel?
Apart from the obvious and as already stated above, there are also Small Group Tours that maybe better suited for your style of travelling.
Of course those will be more expensive than "Hop on, Hop off" buses.
Enjoy your visit to WA,
Mike
