Citronella was the favoured (perhaps the only?) repellent in my childhood and although I'm a mozzie magnet, I'd rather have them than the smell of citronella. We had an open air cinema and the acrid fumes wafting overhead were only outdone by a particularly pungent Avon perfume that was popular. These days, I just use Rid roll on. It's not Chanel No. 5, but it does the job without that citronella pong.

You should be fine Northie, the dung beetles are in a frenzy at the moment literally shredding dung so the flies should be back to normal numbers by the time you get here.
