I want to take one of the abseiling trips thru Waitomo Caves however our itinerary is quite full of things I want to do already. Is the caves worth it or is it too much hype?

I think that a Waitomo adventure tour can be pretty memorable. There are at least 5 different choices, ranging from fairly tame to totally deranged. The 'Lost World' abseiling trip is incredibly unique. The Blackwater Rafting trip is quite an experience as well. If you want to do some pretty hairy spelunking, there are a couple of other trips, such as, "Honkin' Haggis Holes"!

Evelyn,<BR><BR>My husband & I just got back from New Zealand and did the Lost World abseil. It was sooo fun! I highly recommend the experience. Repelling into the lush fern cavern and down to a raging river was just too much to explain. Then walking through the dark cave & into the small glowworm area, it's just so cool. <BR><BR>My suggestion is...if you can fit it into your schedule, then do it. Also, take your time and enjoy the repel.<BR><BR>Christina

The Lost World tour definitely sounds exciting. Honkin' Haggis Holes may require a more physically fit me! I think I'm going to try to do it. Should I make reservations?
