Trip Videos of Kinloch/Glenorcy and Mt Cook/Hooker Valley
The first video includes Kinloch, the Hillocks, Dart & Rees Valleys, Lake Sylvan walk, Diamond Lake, Paradise, and Glenorchy.

I spent two nights at Kinloch Lodge. The road to Kinloch is fine, the last 9km is good gravel The first day I drove to Paradise as a day trip in a passeger car, I was a bit nervous about going across too many fords. The Dart River Safari goes up the same valley. On the second day I walked to the overlook at Invincible Mine, and around the Glenorchy swamp on the way back to Queenstown.
The second video is of the Mackenzie basin, Mt. Cook, the Hooker Valley Track, and Lake Tekapo.
I spent one night at the YHA in Mt. Cook. The Hooker Valley track is about 3-4 hours. It's fairly easy and interesting, you cross two swing bridges and see a number of big moraines. You end at the terminal lake of the Hooker glacier, with icebergs. You can walk a bit along the shore of the lake, eventually there will be a stream coming in from the side. Assuming in good weather people cross this, but it was starting to drizzle so I turned around and walked back to the trail head. The following night was spent at Lake Tekapo at a hotel that I will warn about..the Godley (should be called the god awful-ley)

You're killing me! Those are great - I love the music - the first song is from the Air NZ commercial isn't it?
We're planning a return to the SI in September, and I'm already wishing I had more time...never enough time...
Thanks for the heads up on the godawfully.
