Tahiti Here We Come

We are going to Tahiti/Bora Bora in May. Can anyone suggest places to eat. We will splurge for one expensive nite out, but the others we would want something reasonably priced. Overall, I have heard that things there are expensive.

Also, any other suggestions from those of you who have been pls. let me know.

I am very excited about going!!!!

I hope you are spending most time in Bora Bora. Regarding place to eat, I would put it this way, I am presuming at some time, you would probably like to see the Tahitian dance show? In this case, the shows, at least the ones held at upscale hotels, are packaged with buffet meals. These packages are very expensive. So twice I've been there, both most expensive meals happened to be the Tahitian feasts that came with the dance package.

Thanks. We will be seeing a Tahitian Dance show -- that is a must. How come you said i hope you send most of your time in Bora Bora? What is wrong with Tahiti? Is there alot to do at nite -- nightclubs?

Returned from Bora Bora 4days, Moorea 4days, Tahiti 2days on Nov 8. Little
Nightlife on Bora Bora. There is a well known restaurant called "Bloody Mary's". Bora Bora was the best and
dinner and show at the Bora Bora Lagoon Resort was excellent, we stayed there.
Tahiti is busy and crowded and probably has more nitelife but two days was enough. Moorea has more activity but if you like to snorkel, swim, feed sharks Bora Bora is the place. It is smaller and has the real Island feel.

Does Tahiti/Bora Bora have a speciality food or drink that we should try?

We are flying to Tahiti for 4 nites and then Bora Bora for a few nites. Is it easier to make plans for Bora Bora while in Tahiti or should we try and do it before we leave...

Patty,
You are going to have a wonderful time! However, if you can still do it, I would switch and have 1-2 nights in Tahiti and the rest in Bora Bora. Have a ball!

When in Tahiti, it's a cheap meal but wonderful. Go to the docks where the cruise ships come in. All these trucks drive in, drop their sides and start cooking. A little bit of everything - large portions - wonderfuil tasting and inexpensive. We'd share so we could try something else. It's a fun thing to do.
