Suggestions for places to stay in Stanley and Strahan Tasmania?
Hello fellow Fodorites -
Hubby and I leave tomorrow for two plus weeks in Tasmania. Yippee! Due to some visa issues here in Indonesia, we just found out three days ago that we'll actually be able to leave for our trip. Needless to say, it's been a mad rush to make arrangements, but thanks to Wotif.com and ratestogo.com, we're almost set.
I've booked all the hotels except for Stanley and Strahan. Any suggestions on places to stay in these two locations? Considering Hanlon B&B for Stanley (thank you LizF), but waiting for the rates to post on Wotif.
Any last minute suggestions on things to see and do would also be appreciated.
Here's the itinerary:
Four nights Hobart
Three nights Freycinet/Coles Bay
Two nights Launceston (how do you pronounce that by the way?)
Three nights Cradle Mountain
Two nights Stanley
Two nights Strahan
Two nights Melbourne

Hi Melnq8 - we stayed at Aldermere Estate Apartments in Strahan last year; walking distance (15 mins) from the main street where the restaurants & cafes are => http://www.aldermere.com.au. Fully self-contained and only a couple of years old - highly recommend it.
Cheers.
Cheers.
