I'd hire a car and drive over to Fiordland. Drive to Milford (with stops along the way), then take a boat tour of Milford Sound. Alternatively, take a boat tour of Lake Manapouri and Doubtful Sound. At that time of year, the weather can be iffy - you could wait 'till you get there to see what the weather is going to be like, then decide whether or not to go.
There is also plenty to do right around Queenstown, such as taking the Skyline Gondola for great views of the surrounding area. You could go whitewater rafting or jet-boating too.

One of our favorite spots in Queenstown was Deer Park Heights which is about a 15-20 minute drive from downtown. It provides great 360 degree views of the Queenstown area and this is also where some of the LOTR scenes were filmed.
Arrowtown is also nearby (~20 min in the other direction). Very quaint town old fashion town with neat shops. There are also some great wineries in this area and the AJ Hackett Bungy site.
We also went horse trekking in nearby Glenorchy (45 min drive) which was very beautiful.
An hour north of Queenstown is Wanaka and Lake Hawea. Both of which offer spectacular views and quite charming.
Definitely head to Fiordland as suggested. You may want to look into taking a day trip by plane since your time is limited.

Late November is early spring. Any type of weather is possible.
A combination coach/flight day trip to Milford is another choice. Self-drive is a very long day trip and the driver is disadvantaged (a bit like driving Big Sur).
It Queenstown, TSS Earnslaw and visit to the sheep farm is a good activity especially if you are feeling jetlagged.
Also leaving from Queenstown is a Skippers Canyon 4wd tour. Rental cars not allowed on this road.
Arrowtown is not worth a full day but is okay if you combine it with some wine tasting. There is a great little golf course in Arrowtown with play thru the schist rock outcrops.

We drove up the lake from Queenstown to Glenorchy. Beautiful beech forests, mountains covered in snow. Spectacular. In the other direction Wanaka was also beauthiful, nicer and less tourisy than Queenstown. There is a great restaurant in Wanaka calleed Missy's Kitchen .
