snorkel in Bora Bora
We will be on the Paul Gaugion and have a one day stop in Bora Bora. We are taking a morning tour with the ship but have the afternoon free and would like to snorkel. Any suggestions as to where the best snorkeling in the lagoon would be? If it is at a hotel, will they allow non-guests?

Go to Beach Club Bora Bora, then hire a water taxi to take you across the lagoon to Motu Piti Aau. Have them let you off at Fareone Point. Walk along the edge of the motu, along a shallow pass, called, "The Coral Garden". Jump in at the seaward side, Tupitipi Point, then float through the 'garden' until you are back at Fareone Point.

You could do it in a couple of hours. My recollection was that we were dropped of at around 10am and we brought lunch with us - we probably got picked up around 2pm, but you could easily do it in less time if you wish.
