Shipping souvenirs

We are going to Oz in October for a month, but we would like to ship back some of the souvenirs for our family instead of carrying them around. Any suggestions on how to send them to the US safely & without costing a fortune? Keeping in mind, we are not sending back fruits or alcohol products. Thanks.

Shipping sea freight to the US usually takes upwards of 8 weeks, and is the cheapest option. Economy air takes up to about 10 days. I sent home 3 cd's Economy Air last week & it cost $10 AUD. Cost obviously increases if you are insuring contents.

What service did you use on the Economy Air - is it postal or one of the shipping companies like FED EX or DHL? THanks for the info.
2divecrew

I ship everything via Australian Post office. Shops are everywhere - absolutely no comparison to the dreary inside of a US Post Office, and no 10 most wanted lists!

Again thanks for the info, I really don't want to load up or pay a fortune to get it home.
2divecrew
