Rottnest Island with a toddler, worth it?

Has anyone done a Rottnest day trip or overnight stay with a toddler? Trying to decide if it’s worth the cost and effort or if it’s better saved for when the kids are a bit older. We’re based in Perth and thinking about a one-night stay. Would love to hear if it’s toddler-friendly or a bit too hard to manage.

I can't speak to traveling with a toddler, but I visited Rotto as a day trip from Perth when I lived there and found it pretty unexciting. It's a popular place for young people to go and party during schoolies.

Yes !

Yes ! Go for it ! A day trip is super fun, kids like to chase the cute quokkas ! But please do not feed them. We could give them disease with our human food, and by petting them (we have bacteria naturally present on our skin that can be dangerous for them).
It's also super nice to rent a bike and explore around the island. Just double check if you can rent a bicycle with a baby seat.

Julie - seriously? I can’t imagine anyone being so stupid as to allow their kids to chase quokkas!
