Restaurant in Sydney?

My husband and I are going to be in Sydney for our anniversary and I was looking for some suggestions as to a nice romantic restaurant to go to. Price is not an issue.
Thanks.

I think the most romantic restaurant in Sydney is Bathers Pavilion on Balmoral Beach. When we lived in Sydney, we celebrated many special occasions there. Serge Danserau, formerly the Exec chef at the Regent Sydney, is the owner/operator and offers wonderfully creative "new Australian" menus, featuring fresh local ingredients and an excellent wine list.
The restaurant is right on the beach, so you can go for a nice stroll on the before or after dinner. It's a 10 min cab ride from the downtown hotels.

Level 41 -- the absolutely BEST restaurant experience of my life. The food, the view, the service. . . everything TOP NOTCH.

My husband and I went and we NEVER rank an eating experience in the "top ten" moments of vacations and this was surely in the TOP FIVE !!! : )

We recently ate at Astral at Star City and then sent my parents there for a birthday dinner and a show. We loved it as did they. It is well away from the casino, has lovely views over Sydney Harbour, the food was marvelous (with some good Australian fare), a terrific wine list and the service the best we've had in a long time - so attentive without being overbearing and definately not pretentious - and we eat out A LOT.

The place was so comfortably to sit around and just relax - no noisy kitchen to see - and the chairs were those high backed padded numbers that are more like lounge chairs than dining chairs.

It is quite expensive but not out of control (mains in the mid $30's). You can check out the casino's website for an idea.

On our last night in Sydney, we went to Thirty Something, which is on top of the Intercontinental Hotel [if I recall correctly]. It had been recommended to us by new friends from there. I didn't expect much, since we were told they frequently order custom pizzas there. Well, it was such a wonderful surprise. Our meal was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the view was spectacular. Make a reservation and request a table by the window, with a view of the Opera House.

The Boathouse in Glebe, by the water at the Rowing Club must be one of the top choices and must get a mention.
It's not cheap but then price is not an issue.

My husband and I did not like the Boathouse. The food was quite ridiculously expensive for what it was (a fish pie for $45) and one entree that was something like $180 - and quite frankly we did not think the food that good. The place has no ambience as it is exactly as stated - an old Boathouse with an atmosphere like a club hall and the kitchen in full view of diners and your view is of the fish markets and old fishing trawlers. So don't be mislead by water views they are not views of Sydney Harbour the city and the Harbour Bridge/Opera House they are views of Blackwattle Bay and not sure it is the most romantic of settings for an anniversary dinner.
