Reasonable hotel rates in Sydney AU in February
Hi all again,
We are going to be in Sydney.AU for four nights in Feb., on our way to NZ. Since we will have no car we need to be near public transportation to sightsee and also have easy transportation to the airport. If an apartment hotel is available at a reasonable price(approximately $100 per night for the two of us] we would appreciate hearing about it.
We have planned our trip using your advice so I know you will be able to help us.
Thank you in advance.

Sorry I did not read through your post properly. I doubt that you will get anything in Sydney for $100 for 2 unless its a Hostel. I think you will have to adjust your requirements or location or both. Some suburban hotels may have cheaper rates but then you will have to travel to sightsee.

Although it's not an aparthotel you might try the Metro Hotel on Pitt - you might get a budget room for between $105 - $155 depending on when you book it. We had a Metro quite close to where we live but it's closed now, that's how I know about the chain. It would be clean and decent and in a good location. Good luck!

Just across the Harbour, Kirribilli is a lovely little suburb with fabulous views back to the CBD, Opera House etc and a very nice residential atmosphere. Lots of restaurants & 1 stop on the train to Wynyard, ferries to Circular Quay - and you can walk to the CBD across the Harbour Bridge & have those wonderful views for nothing.
I saw a write-up for Terra Nova House yesterday & thought it looked charming. That might suit you. Certainly in your budget range. http://kirribilliaccommodation.com/contact.html
NOTE: You will need to ask for one of the en-suite rooms; otherwise shared bathroom.
I think you'd be lucky to find a self-catering apartment within the CBD for $100.
