Queenstown hotel ? help please

I am finding very little information on where to stay in or around queenstown that is under 100 US a night (in november).

My fiance and I are getting married in early november somewhere around queesntown and will have 3 nights afterwords (honeymoon) to stay in or around the queenstown area,

any suggestions on somewhere less then 100$ that is clean, comfortable and has beautiful views?

Hi,
We haven't been to Queenstown yet, but I have researched it quite a bit. It's surprisingly difficult to find good lodging for under $100 US in Queenstown.
One place I would consider is the Discovery Lodge Queenstown.
http://www.dlq.co.nz/
It is a hostel, but they do have premium rooms with a lake view, private bathroom, TV/DVD, refrigerator, and king-sized bed with a duvet for NZ$130 per night.
Hope that helps, and best wishes on your upcoming marriage!

The Blue Peaks Lodge may meet your requirements.

While not a typical honeymoon resort, it is clean and comfortable. I'm not sure any hotel in Queenstown has beautiful views.

Go to Orbitz.com and put in Queenstown, NZ. You'll get a list of hotels in and around Queenstown starting at $88/night and up. There's quite a few under $125/night. Not sure if those rates are valid for November.

We stayed at the Rydges hotel. It is situated overlooking beautiful Lake Wakitipu and The Remarkables mountain range.
It's also a 5 minute walk to Queenstown along the shore of the lake.
We were there in 1999 for 3 days in November. We liked it so well we returned for 10 days in November of 2000.
As I recall the rate for my wife and I were NZ$125.
You might visit their web site at www.rydges for details.
You'll love Queenstown. Be sure to take the dinner cruise on Lake Wakitipu aboard the TSS Earnslaw. Very romantic. The wharf where it docks is located between the Rydges and the CBD. You'll walk right by it on your way to town.

Addwag,

I suspect as it's your honeymoon you're looking for the elusive "less than $100 a night with great views, easy walking distance to town, romantic touches, charm" sort of accommodation.

You're either going to have to stay someplace outside of Queenstown, or get a more realistic budget. (or stay at the motel Barbara mentioned which is just under $100...actually when you add the 12.5% tax)...

As for B&B's, those would be more expensive than the hotels already mentioned. Yes, there are hotels with fabulous lake views, but you're paying for those fabulous views!

But if you're not committed to staying IN Queenstown, I'd suggest staying in Wanaka. Very beautiful, quiet, romantic, less touristy than Queenstown (and yet you can drive to Queenstown in 2 hours). You might find better rates there; the B&B I put my clients in is still over your budget ($130), but it would be more charming than say, Rydges, (which I stayed at in December); great location, but your basic accommodation.

Hope this is helpful & congratulations!

You can get a good idea of discounted accommodation prices on wotif.com. Note that taxes are included. Many better places go for US100 or less.

The catch is these are available for the next 2 weeks only, although sometimes you can get the same well in advance if you email the place directly. It may be worth a try.

I stayed at bluepeaks - which was comfortable and a short walk from lake wakatipu. in terms of luxury hotels, millenium/copthorne and rydges are probably the best, with trhe latter being right by the lake espalande.

I know this is above your planned budget, but I thought I post it anyway, because it's a perfect "honeymoon" hotel in Queenstown.

Brown's Boutique Hotel http://www.brownshotel.co.nz/

Just oozing romance and great views from the mini-balconies. If you decide to splurge, ask for room #10. If you look at the pictures on their website, that's the room on the top floor all the way to the left. The view of the city, lake and the mountains is just incredible from the balcony.

Congrats on your marriage!
