Chill, if you;ve been "living in sin" for years then enjoy your trip.

if you are more traditional than that then, well.... yeah... anyway enjoy your trip

I think the itinerary looks fine. One long day at Ayers Rock is also ok. GBR from Palm Cove on day 8?

i feel that you could really do with 3 days at ayers rock as you should fit in a sun rise, sunset, sounds of silence dinner, trip to teh olgas and trip to kings canyon (need 1 night stay). It is probably a place you won't go back to so make sure you see it all. Kings canyon is a fantastic day trip, as is the olgas, more involving than a trip to ayers rock.

Some tips from a local that has been a flight attendant for 15 years.....
Syd a.m. arrival will be cold, definately below 10C and will not get to 20C in the day.
Bridgeclimb: book online. Do not have a big night before you climb as you are breathalysed for blood alcohol content. Good website. Brilliant.
Ayers Rock 5 hros drive from Alice. Just do the Rock and Olgas. Will be freezing at night as it is the desert. Beautiful sunnty winter days (17C)
Palm Cove - just say Cairns, people will understand you better. 20 mins norhtfrom airport. Get hotel transfers or a hire car. Go up to Kuranda on Kuranda Train and down on the Skyrail. Book online. Much better combo. Wed, Fri Sat market days in Kuranda though they are not much anymore. Nu Nu's nice restaurant Palm Cove. My freind, Cath runs the general store. Very helpful. Suggest fly Cairns to Singers/Hkg to get home. Use Australian Airlines - Qantas's Cairns based carrier. Will save you heap of time rather than backtracking to Syd. Cairns winter weather is not winter. Low humidilty, shorts and t's. Too cold to swim though.........for us locals!! Enjoy.
