Are you referring to Shun Fung?

If it's the restaurant I'm thinking of, we ate there several months back, so yes, they're still there.

Thank you. When we were planning our trip to Australia you were one of the wonderful people that gave us suggestions. I noticed you have now moved to Australia. I don't know if you've made it down to Esperance yet, it was one of our favorite places.
It has been a couple of years since we ate at the restaurant but I remember the entrance being on Esplanade. It was very popular and crowded. The food was amazing. It was not on the river, but near it. I thought it was mentioned in the Fodor's tour book but can't find it anywhere.
We have friends going to Perth in 2 weeks and would love for them to go there.
Thanks.
Beth

Beth -
I did some more research and I think it's the Grand Palace that you're looking for. We ate there a few months back during a company function. It's in a heritage building on the Esplanade about a block from the river and bell tower -

We spent five nights in Esperance back in November during a long WA roadtrip. It's certainly a beautiful spot - all that pristine white sand...
