Outback Spirit Tours

Has anyone taken a tour within Australia with Outback Spirit Tours? We had a trip booked with them and they have now cancelled it at short notice and are giving us extremely poor service, refusing to answer questions and solve issues with alternate date offered? As we are now about to pay a large amount as a final payment, wanted to know if this is usual for them or not. Really concerned and would value any information before deciding to make final payment.

We are Australians who have toured with Outback Spirit Tours many times in the past three years and are about to leave on yet another one in a few weeks - we have never had a probem with them. I am very sorry to hear you are less then satisfied.
We have always found them to be efficient and certainly all of the trips which have been all over the country have been very well run with very efficient pleasant staff.

The trip is from Darwin to Broome through the Kimberleys.

The Kimberley trip is absolutely wonderful particularly if you have Michael and Dotto as your driver and guide. So I do hope you are able to come to a satisfactory agreement. On each trip we have had there have been a number of repeat clients - which has to count for something.
I don't think you will find much comment on this site as most participants prefer other means of travel.

Could the tour have been cancelled because of weather/road conditions? You may not be aware, but we have had torrential rain in parts of Australia in the last couple of weeks which has closed a number of roads.

Don't know the company myself, so can't comment otherwise.

It's probably stating the obvious, but check your "Junk Mail" box; I've had mail from known correspondents land in mine.

Thanks for some reassurance from you guys who have travelled with them. Perhaps the actual trip will be OK, because the people from their head office seem to be a very poor reflection on the organisation it seems. Maybe we will take the risk.
