You are lucky you had such good weather. We went for 2 weeks at the beginning of Feb, and almost everyday was cold and rainy.

Hi Leslie, The Deaths Corner viaduct is just past the Arthur's Pass Village. I'd recommend that at the Village that you drop by the DOC office and pick up a local map. The DOC person I spoke to was very helpful in pointing out good scenic lookouts for us, including Deaths Corner.

Pat - I totally agree with you ! My biggest worry prior to the trip was the weather. We can plan and control for so many things, but the weather was just a matter of keeping our fingers crossed.
