So we hope the incumbent looses the election here; the opposition isn't exactly thrilling. Its a case of anyone but Bush for me.

Will ACT secede from the rest of the country? Can we emigrate?

So how did a travellers tale of North to the Atherton Tableland become such a depressing political tableaux vivante?

A/D, I doubt that it would worry the rest of the country too much if we did secede, as we're always being pilloried as the home of pols and public servants. Actually more federal public servants live & work in the various states than in Canberra, but few appreciate that.

Well, as a non-voter who was out of the country and heard the news on the Beeb, I am distraught. And in the end it wasn't even close.

Anyway "to the important question of chicken sandwiches. Believe it or not a good friend of mine once told me how her sister in law and family came to visit Oz - and complained about everything - and especially about the sandwiches - "these have too much filling in them", they said. LOL.

Dear Alice,

I volunteer at the local hospital. At the sandwich and salad bar plates are weighed and you pay by the ounce. You get what you pay for; so no complaints as long as you stay away from the steam tables!

Was this sister in law Danish. Open faced sandwiches there (smorrebrod sp?) are sometimes thinnish. At least for that whiner there would only be one piece of bread to get through.
