I would like to plan a holiday for later this year - pretty much anywhere in Victoria but started looking at the Great Ocean Road area. I went to airbnb and searched in the area - lots of places in my price bracket. But as soon as put in dates - any dates - there is nothing available. Is this because it's all fully booked or because people have temporarily taken their properties off the market? Or some other reason? I know that there is very heavy demand for properties as people are unable to travel very far but is it really that bad? Does it mean no overseas holidays and no local holidays either? What's going on? I also looked at booking.com and more places available so could book something through them (unfortunately the one I like is limited refunds).

Plenty of places available. Not sure of your booking dates but I'm seeing availability everywhere on Stayz, AirBnB etc.

Dreamon, I would call the places you’re interested in direct. There may be some festival or something on that you’re unaware of.

Thanks for suggestions. I have realised what I was doing wrong. I was entering a search criteria using the price per night, instead of the price I am willing to pay for the entire stay. An 'oh duh' moment!
