Neil was mentioned on CNN

Hello all. This morning I woke up at and turned on the television to CNN and then went into the kitchen to make a pot of coffee.

All of a sudden I heard the word "Fodors" being mentioned and then "Neil of OZ" with Jack Cafferty chuckling. And then something about a thread regarding "Nuts on Capri".

Unfortunatly I did not hear much of what was said but it is evident Jack had lurked on the Fodors sight. And got quite a chuckle out of it.

I would think that the Falling Chicken story is what he was referring to in regards to Neil.

So Neil, you are famous!

LOL, LoveItaly.

Neil, now I can drop your name and claim to know someone famous, even if we are only "virtual" acquaintances over the Internet.

Thanks, LoveItaly - I guess there are worse ways to come to CNN's attention (like, being a guard at Abu Ghraib...)

In my experience the only Australian news to be found in US media outlets are small fillers related to croc attacks and other "weird stuff". No wonder the falling chickens made news!

Now I'm puzzled about the nuts on Capri. Are the Italians trying to upstage us?

Hi dear Neil and Judy.

It was so strange. First of all I never turned on the tele until the evening news... but on 911 a friend in Italy telephoned me and screamed "turn on CNN, America is under attack".

And every morning since then I have been in the habit of clicking on the tele to CNN just to see "if the world is still here".

So did so this morning. And they are talking about our dear Neil! Can you imagine? I was in shock. Really. Could not believe it.

A bit like when I clicked on our Channel 7 news (ABC) one night to see a cousin of mine saying her son had been terrible hurt in Iraq - driving a hummer - Marines in the hummer died, my cousins son had terrible injuries to the right side of his face.

Oh strange, you click on the tele and there is a comment or a story regarding you know - in this case our dear Neil.

And regarding the "Nuts in Capri", I really do not know. I did a search on the Europe Board, but pulled up nothing. I do know when we have stayed on Capri there sure have been some nuts, but that is another whole different story.

Anyway dear ones, our dear Neil is now internationally known. Cheers!

My Web search turned up a site "Capri Nuts" - a worldwide Ford Capri owners' club. Nothing to do with the Isle of Capri, maybe a bit to do with nuts, but definitely nothing to do with falling chickens. Boring.

Scarlett, thank you, but all enquiries are being referred to the 'Sydney Morning Herald' reporter who started this, and I've returned to my normal obscurity.

PS: there is no truth to the rumour that Saddam's missing WMDs (Weapons of Mass Defrosting) have been found - please do NOT contact the White House or CIA.

My first car was a 1979 Capri, which dh and I not-so-affectionately called the Crappy. You definitely have to be nuts to own one!

Neil,

"weapons of mass defrosting" - oh, I like that very much.

But the American-driven disaster continues of course,

But as crying does no good, one might as well laugh.

Thx.
