Need suggestion for a place to meet fellow traveller at Sydney airport
I am arriving on Delta and he is arriving on Qantas, both at about 7:30 a.m. These are both international flights, so we will have to go through Customs first. Can you recommend a coffee shop or another place outside Customs where one can wait for the other, if necessary? Thanks.

Your best bet is to wait where everybody else is awaiting internation arrivals - as you exit the customs hall you come down a walkway, in plain sight of everybody who's there waiting (there is usually a fair crowd since many overseas flights arrive around that time). Whichever of you gets in first hangs around the end of that walkway where you reach the open public space, you'll see it when you get there.
If you both agree that you go no further, except to go get a drink or something and come right back, then you'll find each other no problem. In dozens of arrivals over the decades I have never had to look long for people awaiting me, nor have I ever missed any arrivals I was waiting for.

I agree with DalaiLlama but there are two arrival areas . QANTAS will come out via A-B arrivals but I am not sure about DELTA. Should be no trouble to look at the arrival board and see if Delta will come out A-B or further down via C-D. Otherwise you can check at the Help desk opposite A-B arrivals.

Good point, I forgot about that. Here's what you can do: Download the terminal map from www.sydneyairport.com.au/SACL/Terminal-Maps.html - pick the T1 Int'l Arrivals from the list, note the location of the Meeting Point as indicated in the area between the A/B and C/D arrivals, and since you both literally now are "on the same page" you can't miss each other.
