Need a restaurant suggestion in Sydney for this Sunday night...

Hi All,

I'm looking for suggestions as to a really nice restaurant to go to this Sunday night for our Anniversary.

Normally I wouldn't have waited so long, but we were meant to be moving this weekend to a new apartment so we weren't going to do anything special. We just found out the people in the unit we're moving into won't get out until Tuesday.....Grrrrrr....

We live on the lower North Shore of Sydney, so anywhere not toooo far south would be OK. We love pretty much all types/styles of food and are fairly adventurous when it comes to trying new things.

Some of the options I have considered (depending on booking availablility - I'm checking into that today) are as follows: Aria, Quay, Rockpool, Billy Kwong...... Any other suggestions?

I just want to have a great night out so I can forget about how mad I am that we can't get into our new unit over the long weekend as we had planned

Hi dlkw,
On our own side, you might have a look at the new Manly Pavilion; http://www.manlypavilion.com.au/
Pilu at Freshwater http://www.piluatfreshwater.com.au/
Ormeggio at the Spit: http://www.ormeggio.com.au/restaurant.php

Aqua Dining at North Sydney www.aquadining.com.au

They are all excellent & I'm sure you would have a great night at any of them. My picks would be Quay or Pilu .. what a delicious dilema!

Congratulations & hope you have a lovely night.

Spice Temple is my current favourite Sydney restaurant but it's not open on Sundays. Billy Kwong is open on Sundays and it's terrific, they don't take bookings so it wouldn't be a problem getting in at this late stage.

Your list is good and I would add Est. Not sure if they would be open Sunday.

Thanks for the great suggestions. Lot's of places are closed on Sundays, so my choices were a bit limited. I ended up booking at Wildfire since DH had let me know he was in the mood for some serious steak eating

Heads up to anyone considering Quay, they have just changed to only serving the tasting menu on Friday, Saturday and Sunday Evenings. Looked great, but not exactly what I wanted. Would like to try one of those Snow Eggs one time though!

Susan7, Spice Temple Menu looks fantastic!! I'm going to get there very soon!!

Thanks again for all the suggestions...you've given me quite a list to work through!
