Melbourne Stay

Hi there, am thinking of booking The Paramount Serviced Apt in Melbourne. It's on Exhibition Street. Is it a convenient location?

Am only spending 2 nights in Melbourne, thus I would like to be near places where the actions are. Thinking of visiting QVM, Chinatown and some shopping centres... Any other good recommendations? Thanks!

These apartments are in China town.
around the corner are The Seville on Russell apartments which I have stayed in. There is a small supermarket & a few coffee shops under The Paramount.
Don't go to the Chinese Restaraunt at the bottom of The Paramount building unless you wish to pay big $$$$ it is very nice but the $$ value is not there.
The main city shopping is a 5 minute walk away. You would be best catching the free city circle tram up to QVM.
Enjoy

Thanks Jo. Wanted to stay at Seville on Russell at first but the rates are more expensive, thus thinking of booking paramount which is nearby. Am looking forward to this trip!

Southbank area has a lot of cafe's, Crown Casino is also in this area which not only has the casino but many restaraunts, bars, shops, ten pin bowling, movie theatres. Maybe you should have a look at this end of town. Water Taxi's along the River to the New Quay area & Fedaration Square.
The Paramount & Seville is in China town where there are mostly Chinese Restarants. The top one being The Flower Drum. Big $$$$ required.
What sort of action are you after in the 2 days ?
Travelodge have a cheaper accom. alternative in this area.

Hi Jo, Have booked the paramount with wotif as they offered a good rate. Thanks for your advice on the South bank area, will explore if we have the time. Will likely to walk around Chinatown area and Bourke St and QVM (saw a lot of threads recommending it!)
As my mum is a vegetarian, is there any vegetarian restaurant near these areas? Any advice is much appreciated.
