We are considering a "splurge" stay on Lizard Island as part of a longer trip to Australia. We are very experienced certified SCUBA divers, and part of the attraction is the surrounding GBR. However I have read reviews that suggest Lizard isn't a great destination for experienced divers. I've also read that it isn't as nice as it used to be and people are questioning the value for the price paid. I'd appreciate advice from anyone who has actually been there what you thought, as well as comments regarding the diving. We don't want to spend a bunch of money to stay there, only to be disappointed.
